Purpose and use of this
tool holder: To
hold a belt sander, wood planer or other similar tools so a person
can use both hands to hold item being worked on.
One Tool vs many tools:
It
will hold every belt sander in an inverted or vertical position
to allow hands free working. It
is completely adjustable and holds every belt sander even wood planers
and with attachments may hold circular saws for hands free working.
See examples of similar holders made by home handymen to
hold only one sander.click
Replaces
large expensive bench sanders:
I estimate The Multi Power
Tool Holder may retail for under $30.00 or possibly under
$20.00 making it a preferable choice over the more expensive
and larger tools. Another advantage is its small size for
storage and portability. |

Is there a market for this
tool? There are many home
handymen building their own tool holders that holds only one manufacturers
tool. See page of pictures of such holders including a couple of
commercial holders. They cannot compete with my tool holder and
it shows there is a need for this tool holder. Market

Multi Power Tool Holder
is a new invention made of steel to solve the problem like the examples
on the left of this page. Each example is a holder to allow one
to use both hands to hold an item being sanded. As you can see a
number of people have built holders to solve this problem. However
none of them will work with more than the single manufactured model
tool they were sculpted to hold. For example mine at the top is
two pieces of plywood cut differently to fit different contours
on each side of my sander. This means it will not work to hold any
other sander even others made by the same manufacturer.
Because of this problem I began to study different sanders and
discovered a way to make one tool that will adjust to hold every
belt sander I have found. I have examined every sander sold in hardware
stores and it will fit each of them with ease. Even large hand held
floor belt sanders.
Not only will it hold every belt sander but also every wood planer
as well. It works without changing parts or without difficult adjustments.
In most cases it is only a matter of adjusting two clamps connected
to a base. My holder can also be positioned to hold tools in the
upside down position like the first pictures or in a vertical or
sidewise position. It is light weight and easily portable or stored.
It can ship in a box 12x4x3 inches.
A belt sander in my tool holder is immovable in a fixed position,
in other words it does not vibrate out of the holder or wobble during
aggressive sanding.
It may be possible to make this tool out of plastics.
The evidence of the market and its advantages are;
- Many people are making home made holders for their individual
sanders and posting them on the internet as ideas or plans for
sale. This is evidenced by the web sites that posted these pictures.
Go the the Tool Holders by Others for
links to their web sites. I believe my tool holder will retail
for less than it cost these people to build their holders, and
theirs are restricted to one tool.
- It solves a needed problem
- Giving home owners and handymen a cheep replacement for
an expensive table sander that they often do not have the
room to store and may only use a few times.
- Giving contractors who have table sanders a portable device
they can attach to a sawhorse on a job site saving the cost
and time to return to the shop when something needs sanding
with precision. For example a cabinet installer or stair railing
installer.
- It multiples the uses and quality of belt sanders or wood
planers. Such as in the examples in the pictures providing
precision sanding of wood or to sharpen steel tools.
- My tool holder may retail for under $30.00 dollars making it
something most people who already have belt sanders will buy.
- It may even motivate a hesitant buyer of a belt sander to buy
both a belt sander and this tool.
- It may cost less than $5.00 dollars to manufacture giving a
good profit margin.
- People who use belt sanders are often people who buy tools such
as this one. Because of its multi tool application, price, and
functions it will be very attractive. For example as a former
contractor I bought any tool that would make my work and time
more efficient. Something such as this for under thirty dollars
would be very attractive to all handy persons and contractors.
Employers would buy it to make their workers more productive and
save on additional returns to the shop.
- In to days depressed market I see this tool doing well because
it provides a way to save labor thus saving costs.
- Attachments can be sold separately to provide tables, guides,
and even additional parts so it can hold circular hand held power
wood saws.
- The real advantage is that no one has a device that will do
what my multi power tool holder will do.
- No one no where has such a device on the market that will hold
more than one tool.
